The Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center will present a pesticide applicator workshop for private pesticide applicators on Thursday, February 23rd at 9:00am at the Thomas Jason Lingo Community Center on Hwy 17 in Oak Grove. The purpose of this workshop is to prepare applicators of restricted use pesticides to meet the certification requirements set by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. If your card has expired and/or you want to obtain a new card you should attend this workshop.

Area agent Glenn Dixon says, “this is an opportunity to prepare for the test that private pesticide applicators have to take to become certified to purchase and use restricted use pesticides. I truly hope our producers will take advantage of this opportunity.”

Workshop attendees will have the option of taking the certification test at the end of the workshop; or they can take it later.
